Have you ever met someone who can’t stop asking questions? Who can’t figure out things for themselves? I see you nodding. Yes, we’ve all met that person at some point in our lives. Either at work or in our social lives. The one who will not take the time or effort to work things out for himself or herself, and will just take the easy way out…which is get someone else to figure it out.
But a funny thing happened. Fed up of the endless litany of questions, one young woman piped up: ‘JGI, will ya? It can’t be that difficult, surely?’ find it difficult to say ‘figure it out for yourself, will you?’ to people like that, and in an effort to sound polite and helpful,I’ll come up with the answer or solution. We all looked puzzled, including the poor girl asking the questions. What on earth was JGI.
‘Err…what’s JGI?’ one brave soul asked in a trembling voice.
‘Just Google It’ the young woman smirked.
We all started laughing. I had never heard of this acronym, but was so delighted with it. Yes, in today’s modern world, we need never worry if we don’t have the answer to something. The answer is at our fingertips.
Just a few seconds ago, I was wondering about a keyboard shortcut for centre-align in Microsoft Word. And instead of yelling out the question to my hubby to see if he knew the answer, I remembered the acronym I’d heard the other day. And that’s exactly what I did….I JUST GOOGLED IT..and there was my answer.
So, remember, we really don’t need to go around asking too many questions. Help is at hand if we know the right acronyms. So JGI away to your heart’s content 🙂
